A Little About Me…
Hi, I’m Roman. Since we probably don’t know each other all that well yet, allow me to introduce myself a little. Well let’s see… hmm… what should I talk about… (between you and me I’ve always hated writing about myself)…
I suppose the first thing to know is that I currently live in Austin, Texas. I turned to music when I was very young. When I was born I was diagnosed with a rare bleeding disorder called Hemophilia (essentially meaning my blood does not clot). So this prevented me from playing sports as a kid. Instead, I spent my free time playing music and living inside in my own interior world.
Luckily, music was the savior I had been needing. I would spend hours in my bedroom playing guitar and writing songs.
I went to college in Florida and studied Economics because I figured it would be a practical skill set. After graduating I got a job in finance working at an investment firm. Today, I still work for a finance firm (this is my day job).
So, in a way, I’m just like you. I work a day job and I am trying to build up my passion (music) on the side. It’s been a long road, fraught with lots of failure, setbacks and crippling self-doubt. Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever be able to make music full-time. A part of me sometimes thinks I’ll always have to work my finance day job. But, then other parts of me are more encouraging and tell me that I will one day be free from the 9-5 and able to pursue my artistry without sacrifice.
Until then, I continue to live in two worlds. By day I put on a suit, check emails, travel to meetings, and endure an endless schedule of zoom calls one after another. By night, I dream of bright lights, big stages, screaming fans, tour buses, recording studios and more. I work on my music whenever I can, constantly trying to make my art into something big, something impactful.
I’m glad you’re here to enjoy the journey with me. I can’t do this alone, and your support means the world to me. Below you can listen to my latest album, which was written and recorded during the pandemic. I hope you love it!
My Latest Album…
My latest album is called Dreamland. It was released in May of 2022 and took my three years to complete.
The inspiration for the album came from a breakup that I endured during the pandemic. I was trapped in a long distance relationship that was made worse by the fact that we weren’t able to travel and see each other because of lockdowns. The stress of the long-distance coupled with the pandemic shutdown culminated in a tumultuous and heart-breaking separation.
During our relationship when we were saying goodnight to each other, I would whisper “see you in Dreamland.” It was little phrase I said all the time because we lived in different places and didn’t have the luxury of sleeping in the same bed.
When I began writing this album, I knew that the title needed to be something which would pay tribute to the relationship that caused me so many emotions. The name Dreamland stuck.
